The "Ethnic German Influence on Architecture and Landscape in MN
by Doug Ohman
Doug Ohman, author and storyteller, takes our chapter members for a photo tour with highlights from his six-book series Minnesota Byways, focusing on his favorite German historic sites in Minnesota. Nearly all of Minnesota's 87 counties have German influence in barns, churches, schools, courthouses, and state parks.
Doug's goal as a photographer is to capture images that tell stories. Many of his photos reflect a deep sense of nostalgic emotion.
Doug is a freelance photographer who specializes in photographing landscape and historic architecture. He has traveled the back roads of Minnesota to discover what many other photographers have overlooked. His greatest reward is sharing his vision with those who strive for a simpler way of appreciating the world around them. Doug will have books for sale, along with notecards of his photos.
