Paulette Tobin presents:

A Baby Boomer's View

Paulette Tobin traveled from her home in Grand Forks ND to Minneapolis to share her thoughts about growing up as a German Russian decedent and looking at those experiences as a reporter.  Prior to her visit to the North Star Chapter, Paulette was best know for crafting the dazzling of Sei Unser Gast and the now famous line " We're German.  We don't dine - we eat".  Paulette presented what was a new and refreshing view of the German-Russians.  She presented her view of what it was like growing up in her home town of Eureka SD, long known for it's history as a key stop for many of the German-Russians as they immigrated to the Dakotas.  In her words, I talked about what it was like during the 1960's and 1970's and how growing up in Eureka and the communities liked it helped shape our generation.  Unfortunately, there are no photos available to show here but this was a program that was well attended and enjoyed by all.
