Cynthia Miller presents "how to write your own story" .......

The North Star Chapter was pleased to present Cynthia Miller as part of its genealogy program for October, 2003. Cindy is convinced that all of us have wonderful stories to tell for our children, grandchildren, and anyone else interested in our heritage. Now is the time to get those stories on paper – and never having written before is no excuse! Cindy talked about the importance of sharing our memories, the obstacles we might encounter, and offer easy, fun ways we can spark our creative electricity and contribute to the growing knowledge of our German-Russian ancestry.

Cindy is originally from Beulah, North Dakota. She holds a BA in political science and a BS in mass communications, with a minor in German, from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and an MS in journalism from Iowa State University. She and her husband, Sean Beaton, live in Minneapolis, where Cindy is a college writing instructor and free-lance writer. Her long-time interest in her German-Russian heritage includes research into German-Russian newspapers, and family history preservation through words and artwork.
