This article marks the 5th of the articles associated with the World Wide Web. My intent has been to provide you with sources of information that may assist in your genealogical research. From time to time I do get some input from others. In this case, Gordon Herrboldt provided me with a listing of sites that his niece provided to him. Also realize that some website addresses, also known as "URL’s" do change form time to time. As my articles change, some information may become dated. Just to give you an idea, three of the sites Gordon gave me didn’t work by the time I get this ready for print. Sorry, can’t do much about that but hope you like what you see today! So here we go with more sites to visit.
Later Day Saints family History Centers (http://www.deseretbook.com/famhis) links you to the LDS sites.
Considered a Genealogy Link up page (http://www.familytreeclimbers.com) is good for a link page for general genealogy.
How to Web Site (http://www.familytree.com/mainmenu.html) is a site that provides a genealogy how-to-page.
So, next time you see Gordon, let him know how these sites work and look. Who else has something to contribute?
As I search the Web, I have come across several sites related to ships and passenger lists etc.
And More Ships information (http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/ships/) will direct you to the Odessa Web Site which has various ships passenger lists, many provided by Allyn Brosz.
Flags Information at (http://www.teleport.com/~stahl/flag.html) provides an interesting graphic of Russian signal flags. Perhaps some of our family members used these regulations.
For your information, I have been active with the USGENWEB which is basically a server with many caretakers of counties from every state. In my case, I maintain the McPherson County SD website. There are similar sites around the country. Give it a look and if you are from McPherson Co. you can get your name and Email address added as a former resident of McPherson Co. Other sites do similar things so go to:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~sdmcpher/.
Also useful if you are not from McPherson Co is:
and from there you can navigate to your state and county of interest.
Well, this draws my column to a close for now. Happy Computing!!!!!!!!!
